Experiences

I have gone through some amazing moments in my life. I wish to share those experiences as they taught some valuable lessons to me.

Initially, I used to carve Rice grains in a very small size. One letter in one rice grain and the size of each carved grain size was of a Poppy seed. With lots of efforts I carved 110 letters in that size which took over 4 months time. One day, I met an English Lecturer in a college to get a column written on those carved grains. When he was amazingly looking at those grains, a student who was passing that way hit the Lecturer’s hand inadvertently. Immediately all the carved grains from his hand fell to the ground. There was thick grass on the ground and unfortunately, the grains fell in that thick grass. I was shocked and could not understand what to do.

The Lecturer merely said “Sorry! It’s your bad luck. You can’t find them anymore!” and he left that place. I cannot explain the pain I experienced at that moment.

I just prayed to the Almighty and my faith won as he really did a Miracle.

Suddenly, at some distance I saw a paper lying on the ground in which someone ate sweets. I saw some thousands of ants on that paper. Immediately, I got an idea of lifting the paper which had ants and drop the ants in the grass where the grains fell so that the ants would get the grains. Prayerfully, I went forward and did the same. I left all the ants in the grass where the grains fell.

I eagerly waited for the ants to come out. A moment later, I saw many ants leaving that place. Then, I found one ant bringing a Letter from grass. My joy knew no bound. Further, I noticed many ants, each coming out with a Letter.

This way I could collect 83 carved grains (letters) with the help of ants which was only God’s wish.

This was a great Miracle in my Life.

Ten Commandments

When I was working on the project Ten commandments, I worked till 2:30am. As I was literally tired, I fell asleep leaving all the carved grains on the table without keeping them safe. Even some of the grains which I was carving from a long time were also there.

When I got up in the morning, I did not find any letter there. All the carved grains were missing except one. When I observed that one grain, it was bitten a little. I could find some impressions of a rat and understood that a rat had eaten up all the carved grains. There were around 50 grains which took two months time to carve.

I felt very disappointed and depressed for my carelessness. I thought that it was not necessary for me to work so hard and I decided to give-up carving.

The next day when I was reading a book, I came across a story of a Honeybee. The story goes like this– One day a honeybee was interviewed. The interviewer asked the honey bee – “You work so hard and travel long distances for a long time in search of honey and with great difficulty you store the honey. But a man robs your honey very easily. Don’t you feel sad for that?” The honeybee said, “I feel very sad but I console myself that they rob only the honey which is stored but not the art of collecting honey which God has given only to us (Honeybees).

So, instead of feeling sad and wasting my time, I go out and collect the honey again.”

After reading this story, I thought, when a honeybee – an insect has such a humble attitude and when I am created in the image of God himself and gifted with such an amazing skill which no man possesses in this world, why should I feel sad and depressed and hide my skill?

I decided to start carving the Rice grains again and not to stumble for any hindrances.

From that day, I started carving “Ten commandments”. After that, when I observed the letter which was bitten by the rat, I found that the rat created a beautiful curve which I never did before.

Hence, this incident helped me to invent a new technique which brought a new shape to my art. I could successfully complete and present this beautiful art of “10 Commandments”.
